Rock Fishing

Rock fishing is the method of fishing in which an angler resorts to angling from rocky surfaces in the sea. It is a very popular recreational activity in Australia and New Zealand. Rock fishing can be done by means of line and hook only or by using all fishing accessories of angling like rod, reel, line and hook. In rock fishing, anglers generally use fish baits in summer and autumn and umbrella rig in spring. Fish baits depend on the type of target species of catch. Umbrella rig is a method of trolling in which the target species is attracted to the bait by making an impression of an easy prey by making a bait lag behind from the numerous baits used in umbrella rig. Rock fishing may be considered as the most dangerous form of recreational fishing.
