Bait

In fishing terminology, bait is any article or substance used to attract the prey, that is, the fish. Bait is usually used to dress the hook in the fishing line. In the past, anglers used smaller fish, insects and night crawlers as baits. Now, both natural and artificial baits are used for fishing. Artificial baits are man made objects that attract fish with its movements, color and vibrations. Natural baits are natural objects which forms the prey for fish. Studies prove that natural baits are more welcome to the fish than artificial baits. Anglers choose baits mainly on the basis of the targeted species of fish and its habitat.
